Marjorie J. Foltz

Marjorie J. Foltz, age 87, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away at the Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Rochester, Mi. on Monday, November 9, 2009. Marjorie was born on July 23, 1922 in Sturgis, MI., the daughter of Henry and Frances (Sherman) McIntyre. She married Maurice D. Foltz in February of 1951 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 2008. Marjorie and her husband Maurice were the founders/owners/operators of the “Frontier Town of Romeo”, and she had previously owned, “House of Fashion” dress shops which were located in Romeo, Utica, & Lapeer. She was a graduate of Romeo High School in 1940 and had worked during high school at the Romeo Dairy Bar. Her love of life were her children, grandchildren, & great grandchildren. Marjorie is survived by her daughters: Sheryl (Floyd) Shotwell, Kit (Ron) DiMambro, Kim (John) White, and Kelly (Brian) Tyrell all of Romeo. Grandchildren are Mark (Alison) Shotwell, Greg (Stephanie) Shotwell, Holly (Dr. Neil) Shaw, Jason (Dawn) Foltz, Ron DiMambro Jr., Casey Jo Wiegand, Courtney & Cody White and Michael, Matthew, & Adam Tyrell. Great grandchildren include Sydney, Toni, Taylor, Mitchell, Riley, Neil, Kendall, Mackenzie, Madison and Austin. Her sister Jean Pierce of Florida survives along with her sister-in-law Marilyn Foltz of Romeo. She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice, granddaughter Jill, and her sister Fran Claus. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Dr. Gary Glanville of the Romeo United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Romeo Cemetery. Donations to “Toys for Tots” would be appreciated. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1—9 PM.
