Martin "Butch" Mooney

Martin L. “Butch” Mooney, age 76, a resident of Shelby Township since 1985 and previously from Ray Township, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. Butch was born April 25, 1938 in Detroit, the son of Joseph and Marian (Lane) Bartholomew. He married the former Christine Falkowski at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Detroit. Butch worked at the Chrysler’s Sterling Stamping Plant as a material handler for many years. He served his country proud in the Army while serving in Germany. Butch was a 4-H leader with the Roughriders Horse group for many years, a longtime member of St Kieran’s Catholic Church, and in his spare time enjoyed taking care of his house and property and being with his many family and friends. Butch is survived by his wife Christine, daughters: Therese (Thomas) Cook of Casco Township, Andrea (Jason) Perry of Oxford, and Mary (Karl) Grettenberger of Armada Township. Also survived by 6 grandchildren. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Bernadine, brother Patrick Mooney and sister Mary Ellen Jerzewski. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 11 AM at St Kieran’s Catholic Church of Shelby Township. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2:30-8 with a 7 PM Scripture service at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
