Martin D. Falker

Martin D. Falker, age 94, a lifelong Washington Township resident, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Village Rehab & Care Center in Armada. Martin was born January 12, 1918 at the family farm, where he has lived his entire life, the son of Rudolph and Elizabeth (Baade) Falker. Martin married the former Betty Robertoy on May 11, 1946 and she preceded him in death. Martin was a dairy farmer his whole life, belonging to the Michigan Milk Producers and Farm Bureau. Also a lifelong member of St John Lutheran Church of Romeo. He loved to work, always seen in his fields working the land. Martin loved to watch his beloved Detroit Tigers Baseball team, occasionally went to the Washington Senior Citizens to play cards, but mostly stayed on the farm to work the fields or tend to his animals. Martin is survived by his son Richard (Dianne) Falker of Washington Township, grandchildren: Michelle (Jeff) Thomas of Romeo & Lauren (Ken) Scroi of Macomb Township along with great grandchildren Matthew, Jillian, & Kyle Thomas and Dylan Scroi. Also survived by his brother Howard of Bruce Township. Martin was preceded in death by his daughter Diane Wensko along with siblings: Lydia Griffin and Louise Trombley. Funeral service will take place on Monday at 11 AM at St John Lutheran Church of Romeo with Pastor Mark Evans officiating with burial to follow at the Romeo Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Donations to St John Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
