Martin Parrott

Martin “Marty” Parrott, a longtime resident of Leonard, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2021. He was 59 years old. Marty was born on October 7, 1962 in Rochester to James and Lois Parrott. After graduating from high school, Marty earned his associates degree and began his company, Parrott Electric. He was proud of the business he built and the friends he made in his many years as an electrician. Soon after starting his family, Marty built his home alongside his father and moved the family into the new home in 2001. Many wonderful memories were made in the home he built. Marty was a dedicated father who always made sure to support his sons in all their endeavors, including cheering them on at their football games. He also enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Mullett Lake in Indian River, Michigan. Marty always enjoyed playing football and baseball with the entire family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with Charlie and Jimmy when they were growing up. Above everything, Marty cherished his family and time he spent with them. He will be remembered for his dedication, strong will, sense of humor and caring ways. He was a truly courageous man who would let nothing stop him, even into the final days of his life. His smile and kindness will truly be missed by all who knew him, but memories of him will continue on in all who loved him. Marty is survived by his loving sons, Charles and James Parrott; beloved father James Parrott; dear companion Claudia Jurcan; cherished siblings Debra (Fred) Rybarz, Denise (Alan) Drylie, and James Parrott; former spouse Pamela Parrott; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Lois Parrott. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 2-8pm at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, 11280 Thirty-Two Mile Rd, Romeo, Michigan 48065. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 11am at the funeral home with an additional gathering beginning at 10am. A committal service will take place at a later date at Stoney Creek Cemetery in Rochester Hills. Memorial contributions in Marty’s honor may be addressed to the family.
