Marvin Blain (MB) Morrison, 90, died on July 24, 2017 at the Wellbridge Rehab Center in Romeo Michigan. Marvin was the son of William T. and Virginia Morrison, born in Tazewell, Virginia on December 27, 1926 but spent most of his life in Michigan. He served in the US Army during WWII in Germany from 1944-1946 where he received a Silver Star and a Purple Heart. He served again during the Korean War training soldiers how to set explosives. He was very proud of his military service, and his country. Marvin and four of his brothers (James, Kelson, Edward and Carl) served in different branches of the service during WWII, and all returned home safely. He married Reba Kathryn Hess of Tazewell, Virginia in April of 1950 and soon began his thirty year career as a General Foreman in the Blast Furnace at Great Lakes Steel in Ecorse, Michigan. They opened their home to many of his brothers when they left the coal mines of Virginia to find work in Michigan. In 1963 Marvin and Kathryn moved to Trenton, Michigan where they raised their four daughters. Marvin was a thirty-five year survivor of throat cancer. He loved to hunt fish and tell stories to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid reader of history and would share his knowledge with all of us. Marvin is survived by his wife, Reba Kathryn, his daughters, Deborah (Ron) Hodges, Lynn (Joe) McKelvey, Pam (Fred) Brooks and Vickie (Bud) Atchley, nine grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren, three brothers and one sister. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be held at Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo, Michigan on Tuesday Aug 1st, 2017, with services to follow at 11 AM. Marvin will be buried at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan at 2 PM.
