Marvin Harvey Kloock, age 95, a resident of Romeo since 1941, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Orchard Grove Senior Living in Romeo, Michigan. Marvin was born June 30, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Harvey and Valinda (Baade) Kloock. Marvin married Ruth Compton on February 14, 1953 at St. John Lutheran Church in Romeo. They remained active in the church for over 50 years and Marvin was a proud member of the Men’s Club. Marvin enlisted in the Army, and served in Germany before his honorable discharge. Marvin was a die pattern maker and the co-owner of Simco Industries in Roseville. He retired in 1993.
Marvin enjoyed woodworking and carving. Family and friends were recipients of his skillful work that included furniture, carved swans, ducks and birds. He enjoyed euchre, playing regularly with friends and teaching his grandkids and great grands how to play. He loved music, amassing a huge collection of country, bluegrass and gospel CD’s. Marvin and Ruth enjoyed traveling and visited many family and friends along the way. Marvin loved to eat out but you needed to double the time for a meal with Marv; he savored each bite. He enjoyed collecting “my stuff” (knives, unique screwdrivers and bottle openers, and more), frequenting flea markets and garage sales to add to his eclectic collections. Most of all, Marvin loved his family and eagerly attended birthdays, christenings, graduations and weddings too numerous to count.
Marvin is survived by his children, Nadine (Bill) Mott of Rochester Hills, Mark (Rachel) Kloock of Shelby Township, Stacey (Bob) Bozynski of Waterford, Scott (Jessica) Kloock of Saranac, Michigan, brother Gerald (Peggy) of Jackson, as well as 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth and brother Arnold.
Visitation will be Monday, October 9, 2023 from 3-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo, Michigan. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, 11:00AM, at St John Lutheran Church of Romeo with Pastor Darcy Reis officiating.
