Mary J. Phillips

Mary J. Phillips. age 98, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Orchard’s Nursing Facility in Bruce Township, Michigan. Mary was born July 25, 1924 in Washington Township, Michigan, the daughter of Alfred & Pearl (Folsom) Busch. She married James Phillips on June 8, 1946 and he preceded her in death on July 8, 1983.

For many years you could see Mary working at the Culligan’s Water in Romeo until her retirement in early 1980.s. Upon retirement, she had more time to enjoy her family, work on her crafts, play bingo, and being with her many Shelby Township seniors where she lived.

Mary is survived by her children: William (Vicky) of Washington Twp., Kathy (Paul) Martin of Vanderbilt, MI., and Debra (Jeff) Rice of Rochester Hills. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchild. Siblings include Ruthie Dietlin James Busch, Diane (Chris) Smiles. She was preceded in death by siblings: Dorothy Busch, Alford Busch, Betty Burritt, and Eugenia Smith.

Visitation will take place on Monday January 2, 2023 from 2-8pm at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, Mi.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday January 3, 2023 at 10am. Burial will take place at the Romeo Cemetery following the service.
