Mary L. Chinoski, age 63, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at St John Hospital in Detroit. Mary was born January 29, 1949 in Mt Clemens, the daughter of the late Leo and Lois (Tibbits) Chinoski. Mary graduated from elementary school from St Clement Catholic Church and then graduated from St Augustine High School in Richmond. She then got her teaching degree from Oakland University and also her Master’s in education from Oakland. From 1972 till 2001, she taught 3rd grade at the Amanda-Moore Elementary in Romeo. Upon retirement, Mary had many interest to keep her busy. She was a well known cook and baker, never leaving a friend go home without a sweet treat. Mary loved to travel, basket weaving, card stamping, and being a master gardener for her home. Mary is survived by her sister Josephine (Carl) Grider of West Bloomfield, and her niece Laura (James) Paterson of St Austell, England and her nephew Bryan (Fiancé Trang) Grider of San Jose, California. Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, July 28 at 9:30 AM at St Clement Catholic Church, Romeo with Fr. Joy Chakian of St Rene Goupil Catholic Church of Sterling Heights officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Armada Township. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 6-8 and on Friday from 2-8 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
