Mary Lou Tallant

Mary Lou Tallant, age 86, a four year resident of Romeo and formerly from Troy, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Wellbridge Nursing Facility in Romeo, Michigan. Mary Lou was born September 27, 1930 in Detroit, the daughter of Thomas Gordon and Estelle (LaMonte) Scupholm. She married Charles R. Tallant on March 24, 1956 in Detroit and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2013. Mary Lou earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Albion College and her Master’s Degree from Wayne State University in education. She then taught in the Clawson School District in special education for over 35 years before retiring in 1995. Upon retirement, she enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, shopping, all types of crafting and spending time at the family cottage by Grand Rapids, MI. Mary Lou is survived by her children: David (Sandee) of Troy, Dianne (Kevin) Brousseau of Sterling Heights, Deborah (Mark) Wilson of Romeo and Douglas (Lauren) of Alpena, MI. Grandchildren include Daniel, Matthew, Jeffrey, Alison, Garrett, and Blake. Siblings surviving include Sally Kuhn of Waterford, and Nancy French of Pensacola, Florida andThomas (Marilyn) Scupholm of Lake Orion, Memorial services will take place on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 3:30 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from noon till 4 PM.
