Michael Fix, age 67, passed away on November 20, 2015. He was born on March 20, 1948, son of James and Marilyn Fix. Mike graduated from St. Augustine High School in Richmond, Michigan in 1967. He served his country on the spy ship USS Kretchmer, as the Quarter Master in the Vietnam War from 1968 until 1972. Michael worked for the Bruce Township Fire Department for 42 years until he retired in 2013. He then moved to Maricopa, Arizona to be with his children and grandchildren. During his few short years in Maricopa, Michael and his son Ryan formed the Brotherhood of Firemen and Veterans along with members of the Red Iron. The purpose of this brotherhood was to raise money for burn victims and other charities who are in need. Michael is survived by his wife Jeanne (Riegel) Fix, children; Ryan (Katy) Fix, Natalie (David) Alexander, Monica (Kolter) Duke. Also survived by his grandchildren; Michael Fix, Gabriel Alexander, Everett Alexander, James Henry Duke. Michael’s brotherhood, along with many church members supported his family at his Mass on November 24, 2015 in Maricopa, Arizona. This group of men then proceeded on their motorcycles to the grave site in Mesa, Arizona where Taps was played in honor of his service to his country. We will miss you Mike.
