Michael J. Nolan, age 70, a resident of Oakland Township since 1987 and previously from Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at his home. Michael was born November 10, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio the son of James and Helen (Naughton) Nolan. He married the former Gladys Pena on August 15, 1970 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Panama. After graduating from Franklin University in Columbus Ohio with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, he then worked for many years at Sun Valley Foods in Detroit as a Food Distribution Manager, just retiring in March of 2018. He was an avid reader, using his reading skills to build his house in Oakland Township. Along with his family, they were long time members of St Clement Catholic Church in Romeo. Michael is survived by his wife Gladys, children: Colonel Joseph (Roxanne) Nolan of Washington DC and Shawn Nolan and Marianne Forys of Attica, Michigan. Also survived by grandchildren Connor, Grant, Eric, & Shannon along with 3 sisters: Molly (Daniel) Santry of Orlando, Florida, Maureen (Edward) Woolever of Kentucky, and Mary (Michael) Burchner of Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo. (343 S. Main, Romeo Michigan 48065). Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 20 from 2-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.
