Michael R. Monahan

Michael R. Monahan, age 74, a 40 year resident of Washington, Michigan, passed away on December 29, 2022 at Beaumont Hospital of Troy. Michael was born on November 8, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of George and Evelyn (Rehahn) Monahan. Michael graduated from Utica High School in 1966, then joined the Navy and served for 4 years. Michael worked for Hamill Manufacturing for 6 years, then at Ford Motor Company for 25 years. Michael enjoyed gardening; he had a huge garden, and especially liked growing pumpkins. He also liked fixing small engines, going on cruises, and enjoyed spoiling his nieces and nephews.

Michael is survived by siblings, Larry (Peggy) Monahan of Almont, Kathy (Mike) Reed of Almont, and Rob (Marjorie) Monahan of Richmond, brother-in-law Bruce (Jackie) Rose of Lapeer as well as many nieces and nephews. Michael is predeceased by his loving wife Susan Monahan in 2019.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 7 P.M. at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home with Pastor Evan Veen of Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church of Dryden officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 3, 2023 from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.
