Mike Pelto, a devoted husband, father, son, brother, cherished friend, and esteemed Air Force veteran, passed away on June 11, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and bravery. Born on August 14, 1946, Mike's life was a testament to courage, resilience, and unwavering dedication.
Mike was born into a world recovering from the ravages of war, and it was this environment that instilled in him a deep sense of duty and honor. As a young man, he found his calling and enlisted in the Air Force, serving his country with distinction, and rising to the rank of Sergeant. Mike's unwavering commitment and unwavering loyalty were recognized throughout his military career, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of serving alongside him.
Beyond his military service, Mike was a devoted husband to his beloved late wife, Joyce (Johnson) Pelto. Theirs was a love story that withstood the tests of time, a partnership built on trust, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they weathered life's challenges and celebrated its joys, forming a bond that will forever remain unbreakable.
Though Mike's loss leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, his memory will live on through his son, Todd Geer with wife Tracyand grandchildren Madison and Marlee, sister-in-law Joan Smith (Donald) and nieces Julie and Amy, as well as his sister Sandra Ploch (Peter) and niece and nephew (Christiana and Peter). As a loving father, Mike nurtured and guided Todd, instilling in him the values of integrity, resilience, and compassion. Todd will carry his father's legacy forward, honoring his memory with each step he takes.
Mike's presence was a comforting beacon in the lives of his family and friends. He possessed a kind heart, a warm smile, and an infectious sense of humor that could brighten the darkest of days. He will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, his ability to bring calm to confrontation, and his unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those around him.
