Mo Boon Tong

Mo Boon Tong, age 81, fondly known to most as "Papa", and a resident of the Romeo area for 40 years, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at the Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Shelby Township. Mo Boon was born August 21, 1933 in Canton, China, the son of Hong Man Kwong and Yu Choi Tai. He married Shuk Ying Wong and together they owned and operated the "Two Dragons" restaurant in Washington Township for more than 30 years. Mr. Tong is survived by his wife Shuk Ying, along with children: Angie (Allen) Chan of Hong Kong, Corinne Wong, Melinda (Ray) Chau, Victor Wong, Ann (Steve) Teschendorf, and Amy Tong, He was blessed with 11 grandchildren who include: Nicholas (Laura Beth) Tong, Amanda (Sean) Downey, Vanessa Tong, Magen, Nathan, Nicole, & Tessa Chan, Tia Wong, Bryce, Grant, & Grace Teschendorf; and one great granddaughter Alana Tong. Mr. Tong was predeceased by Hou Ying Lee and Shun Pak Tong. Memorial service will take place on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 7:00 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo.
