Myona Garner, age 80, a 20 year resident of Romeo and formerly from Detroit, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Myona was born September 22, 1928 in Detroit, the daughter of Vernon and Elizabeth (Vermeulen) Koehler. She married Kenneth E. Garner in 1949 and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2007. Myona worked while living in Detroit in retail, at both Fife’s Shoe Store and Nortown Bakery. Her hobbies include crocheting and china painting. While living in Romeo, she was a longtime member of Romeo United Methodist Church. Myona is survived by his daughter Paula (Jeffery) Groomes of Romeo along with his grandchildren Erin, Paige, & Grant. Also survived by her sister Marilyn (Lyle) King of Charlevoix, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her brother William Koehler. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 11 AM at the Romeo United Methodist Church with Dr. Gary Glanville officiating. Burial will follow on Saturday at 1 PM at the Barnard Cemetery in Marion Twp. Arrangements by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo , Michigan. Donations to the Romeo United Methodist Church would be appreciated. Visitation: on Thursday from 4 - 9 PM Services: Friday at 11 AM at the Romeo Untied Methodist Church with Pastor Glanville officiating Interment: at Barnard Cemetery in Marian Township on Saturday, at 1 PM
