Myrna May Battani, age 89, lifelong resident of Bruce Twp. Myrna passed away April 12, 2021. She was born May19, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of John and Esther (Markley) Troden. She married Edward J. Battani on June 12, 1954 at St. Clement Catholic Church Romeo. After graduating from Wayne State University with a Bachelor degree in Education and then earned her Masters degree from Saginaw Valley also in Education while caring for 3 teenagers. She then taught for over 20yrs at Washington Elementary. She was very involved in the Romeo area, Girl and Boy Scouts, where she was a youth counselor and where she met her husband Ed, AAUW/Booksales, , School Board Decisions, Romeo Lions Club, Childrens Parade Chairperson for the Peach Festival, Romeo Elks, Tutored in the summers. She was involved in meet the candidates and involved in milages for the schools. She also loved to play Bingo and Golf, went on many Romeo Treasure Hunt Club Road Rallies. Along with her husband Ed, she spent many winters in Sun City, Arizona. Myrna is survived by her children Ronald and Janet of Romeo, and 4 grandchildren -Brandon Battani, Christopher Campbell, Katie Campbell, and Anthony Battani. Preceded in death was her loving husband Edward Battani and her son Thomas Battani. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 10 AM at St. Clement Catholic Church of Romeo with burial to follow at Romeo Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3-8 with a Rosary at 7PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo, Michigan. Donations are being set up for the Local Samaritan House in Myrna May’s name.
