Nancy Lorraine Leavell

Leavell, Nancy Lorraine (Cobb), 85, died peacefully on June 14, 2022, while holding the hand of her daughter, Denise. Born in Kingston, Michigan, Lorraine attended nursing school in Flint, graduating in 1957. She was a dedicated and caring nurse for over 58 years. She retired at the age of 79. Lorraine enjoyed tending to her rose garden, cooking for others, doing crochet and needlepoint, volunteering at various food banks, along with spending time with friends and extended family. “Grandma Rain was a genuine, kindhearted soul who always put the needs of others ahead of her own,” echoed her grandchildren Jackson, Drew and Max. Loving wife of the late James C. Leavell, II, dearest mother of Denise (Matthew), grandchildren Jackson, Drew and Max, stepchildren Christine (the late Stan) Goltinsky, James C. (Stacy) III, Lisa (Adam) Ptasnik, the late Kimberly Leavell, Valerie (the late Dennis) Graham and several step-grandchildren and great step-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Burt and Bernice Cobb, siblings the late Donald Tolfree and Laura Jean Morris. Lorraine is also survived by extended family and good friends. Burial will take place on Saturday, June 18th with a 10:00 am service at Grace Lutheran Fellowship Church, 7525 32 Mile Road, Bruce Township, MI 48065. Funeral arrangements handled by Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, Michigan. Following Lorraine’s wishes, her final resting place will be next to her parents at West Burlington Cemetery in Silverwood, Michigan.
