Neva J. Throop, age 89, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Tuesday, February 7 at the Welcome Home Adult Foster Care in St Clair, Michigan. Neva was born November 30, 1922 in Romeo, the daughter of Helmuth and Flora (Farley) Ebeling. She married Donald R. Throop on January 15, 1943 and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2001. Neva, after graduating from Romeo High School, attended Eastern Michigan University. She was active in her church, the Romeo United Methodist, where she was in the Women’s Circle & Bible Study. For many years she was a Nursery School Teacher at the Youth Center/Community Center in Romeo. She belonged to the Romeo Elkette’s and enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge. Neva is survived by her children: Judy (Tom) Cvengros of Casco, Township, Richard (Susan) of Marysville, and Marc (Peg) of Gull Lake. Grandchildren include Tom, Jill, Richard, Matthew, Marc, Kelli, Joshua, Noah, and great grandson Zakery. Neva was preceded in death by her great grandson Toby and sisters: Marion Ebeling, Gladys Cline, & Florence Horton/Sellers. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at noon, at the Romeo United Methodist Church with Dr. Gary Glanville officiating. Burial will follow in the Romeo Cemetery. Donations to the Romeo United Methodist Church would be appreciated. Visitation will be on Friday from 3-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
