Norma Jean Harper

Norma Jean Harper, age 81, a 15 year resident of Canton, Ohio, previously a 27 year resident of Romeo, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at the Aultercare Nursing Facility of Navarre, Ohio.  Norma Jean was born May 15, 1925 in Mt. Ida, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Thad and Thula (Helton) Sheffield.  Norma married Williard Harper and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2006.  Norma Jean worked for the Allison Family at the True Value Hardware for many years as a cashier.  She also was a long time member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Romeo where she was the treasurer.        Norma Jean is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Karen) Harper of Canton, Ohio along with her grandsons, Eric and Alex.  Also survived by her sister, Vernell (Scott) Nordness.        Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Deacon Leonard Villapando officiating.  Burial will follow in White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.  Donations to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
