Patrick H. Thomas

Patrick H. Thomas, age 85, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. Patrick was born December 1, 1924 at the Maxwell Farms in Macomb Township, the son of Edgar and Catherine (Fadlene) Thomas. Patrick was married to Jean Drinkhorn and she preceded him in death in 2000. Patrick worked many years in maintenance at Ford Motor Company before retiring in the early 1980’s. Upon retirement, he enjoyed finding and fixing bicycles that he sold at his Minot Street home. He was active in the Rome Mason’s, former member of the Romeo Elks and was an auxiliary member of the Romeo VFW, Post # 2051. Pat was an excellent construction worker, helping his son Jeffrey build his house in Washington Township and helped build the “Thompson Brothers Auto Wash” by the Speedway Gas Station in Romeo. Patrick is survived by his children: Jeffrey (Cheryl) Thomas of Washington Twp., John (Cathy) Thomas of Riley Township, Tim (Muriel) Thomas of Brown City, David (Angela) Thomas of Ohio, Judy Lucas of Dryden, Nancy Knoll of South Lyon, Patsy (Tim) Hauck of Oxford, & Stacy (Brad) Johnson of Almont. Also survived by 24 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren along with siblings: Ruth Wendt, Ed Thomas, Louie Thomas, & Shirley Thorman. Patrick was preceded in death by siblings: Clarence Thomas, Florence Steinbrick, George Thomas, Ivan Thomas, Chuck Thomas, William Thomas, Bert Thomas, & Jim Thomas. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Rev. Eric Majeski of Grace Luthean Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in the Romeo Cemetery. Donations to the National Kidney Foundation would be appreciated. A Masonic Memorial Service is being planned for Sunday night at 7 PM at the Funeral Home. 8 Visitation: on Saturday from 4-9 on Sunday from 2-9 Services: Masonic Memorial Service on Sunday at 7 PM at the Funeral Home Funeral service on Monday at 11 AM at the Henry M.
