Paul Allen Goike

Paul Allen Goike, age 69, passed away on October 7th, 2023 at Troy Beaumont with his family by his side. Paul was born in Detroit, MI November 19, 1953, the son of Francis and Beverly (Navin) Goike.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Karen, and their children Melissa (Dominic) Cadena, Matt (Jesi) Goike and Chris (Callie) Goike, his brother Gary Goike, and his beloved grandchildren, Carlos, Paul, Blake, Gunnar and Tilly. He was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Beverly.

Paul found a passion for developing and encouraging youth while coaching soccer for his sons, and became involved in the sport, coaching at the high school level for many years. This involvement led him to change careers to become a teacher, where he was a favorite of staff and students alike. He served as a teacher at Lakeview High School for many years, where he also served as the Powder Puff Football coach, and was named Outstanding Teacher of the Year in Macomb County in 2020.

Paul had many passions in his life, including anything auto related, especially racing and 1970s cars. He also loved to travel and visit historical sites along the way to any destination. His biggest joy in life was watching his grandchildren excel in all of their sports and activities. He was always there to cheer them on.

Paul was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and fought valiantly until the end to be with his cherished family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 11, 2023 from 4-8 PM, and Thursday October 12, 2023 from 3-8 PM at Henry Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, MI.

Funeral services will take place on Friday October 13, 2023 at St. John and Paul Catholic Church. Mass will begin at 11 AM, and a luncheon will immediately follow at the church.

Burial will take place at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Rochester Hills, MI at 1:30pm.
