Paul H. Faulker, Jr., age 78, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Twp. Paul was born Apr. 4, 1931 in Romeo, the son of Paul H. and Ruth (Briggs) Faulker. Paul married the former Arlene Erdley on Oct 2, 1954 at the First Baptist Church in Romeo. Paul earned his Associate Degree in Agriculture from Michigan State and served his Country during the Korean War in the Army. In his early years, he worked for the Brickley Dairy in Almont and the Mill Valley Dairy in Romeo. He then worked for 22 1/2 years before retiring in 1986, for Ford Motor Company in its tractor division as a technician, mostly in Troy, MI. His truly enjoyed being part of his church family and his volunteering in the Romeo and Bruce Fire Departments. His churches that he attended over the years include the First Baptist Church in Romeo, North Auburn Hills Baptist Church, & the Wesleyan Church (Stoney Creek Community) in Washington Twp. He served in the Romeo/Bruce Fire Department for 47 years and was the coordinator at Macomb Community College in its Fire Program. His hobbies included woodworking, working on his farm, and his guns. Paul is survived by his wife Arlene of Romeo, children: Carol (Brian) Chaney of Colon, MI., Kathy (Gene) Ashton of Almont, Linda (Milton) Stansbury and David (Brenda) Faulker both of Romeo, and Julie (Chad) McCallum of Byron Center, MI. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and his brother L. Roy (Jill) Faulker of Highland, MI. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, Oct 1 at 11 AM at the Stoney Creek Community Church of Washington Twp. with Pastor Gary Beecher officiating. Burial will take place at the McCafferty Cemetery in Bruce Twp. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 2-9 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with passing in review by the Bruce and other fire departments at 7 PM.
