Philip J. Stoegerer Jr

Philip J. Stoegerer Jr., age 72, a resident of Addison Township passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester, Michigan. Phil was born October 7, 1942 in Rahway, New Jersey, the son of the late Philip J. Sr. and Joan K. (Ottewell) Tomic. Phil married his high school sweetheart Joyce Ascherl on March 6, 1965 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Royal Oak, Michigan. Phil worked for 41 years as a journeyman machine repairman in the automotive industry before retiring in 2004 from General Motors. Phil and Joyce are active members of Grace Lutheran Fellowship Church in Bruce Township. Phil enjoyed singing in the choir and belonged to the “G-Force” men’s group, where he was known as “The Embellisher”. He was a longtime member at the Rochester Athletic Club, loved cars and reading about them, enjoyed cutting the lawn with his cigar on his tractor and always enjoyed talking to everyone! Most of all spending time on his Harley was a beloved past time. Phil will be deeply missed by his wife Joyce, children: Beth (Tom) Dilger of Macomb and Philip C. (Julie) of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. Grandchildren include Tommy & Devin Dilger and Ava and Craig Stoegerer. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 11 AM at Grace Lutheran Fellowship Church with Pastor Eric Majeski officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:30 -7 p.m. at the Church.
