Ray A. Pardon, age 77, a 20 year resident of Macomb Township and previously from Sterling Heights, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. Ray was born February 16, 1937 in Bruce Twp., MI., the son of Sylvester and Earnestine (Strassburg) Pardon. Ray graduated from Romeo High School in 1955. He married Garrie Russ in 1956 and she preceded him in death in 1987. Ray worked for the Utica School System for 20 years in maintenance before retiring in 1999 at the Plumbrook/Ebeling Schools. He previously worked with his son Lee in cabinet making/installation, for National Machine, milked the cattle at the Octogon House/Farm in Washington Twp., and for many years raised and sold flowers at his Macomb Township home. He served his Country proud in the Navy during the Korean War and his hobbies were bear and deer hunting. Ray was a current member of St Mary’s Queen of Creation Catholic Church in New Baltimore, MI. Ray is survived by his children: Debbie (Dana Moore) Pardon of Shelby Twp., Leeland (Lorraine) Pardon of Imlay City, and Terry (Kimberly) Pardon of Harrison Twp. Grandchildren include Christine Spoutz, Jeremy, Alex, Terry Jr., Jessica, and Tommy Pardon. Great grandchildren include Carter, Kendra, & Jossalyn. Ray is survived by his siblings: Doug (Thelma) Pardon of Imlay City, Jim Pardon of Berville, Leona Thorman of Romeo, Shirley Pardon of Imlay City and his sister in law Mary of Berville. Ray was preceded in death by siblings, Bob, Sam, Lyle, John, Jay Pardon, Cora Mendez and Dick on March 25, 2014. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at noon at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-8 PM. Burial will take place at the Romeo Cemetery.
