Raymond B. Surgalski

Raymond B. Surgalski, age 93, a resident of Washington Township, Michigan, passed away on July 11, 2023 surrounded by family. Raymond was born August 1, 1929, in Hamtramck, Michigan, the son of Benjamin and Mary (Evans) Surgalski. After graduating high school, Raymond joined the Navy. On June 21, 1952, Raymond married Gloria L. Kenney. They enjoyed 69 years of marriage before preceding him in death on February 16, 2021. Raymond worked in the Tool and Die trade until his retirement at 59 years old.

Raymond enjoyed woodworking, fixing things, reading, TV, movies, and clocks. Raymond and Gloria loved vacationing at Stag Island, spending time with grandkids, and their beloved dog, his “Little Rascal Sadie.”

Raymond is survived by his children, Patrick (Molly) Surgalski, Margaret (Larry) Dunford, Michael (Mary) Surgalski, Kathleen (George) Efthemiou, and Suzanne Surgalski. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 3:00PM to 8:00PM with a 7:00PM service at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023 at 11:00AM, at St. John and Paul Catholic Church, in Washington Township, Michigan.
