Richard A. Schoenherr

Richard A. Schoenherr, age 75, a lifelong Macomb County resident, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township after a short illness. Dick was born March 29, 1938 in Warren, MI., the son of James & Mildred (Distelrath) Schoenherr. He married the former Sandra (White/Sadaj) in 1960 at St Clement Catholic Church in Romeo and she preceded him in death on May 31, 1996. After graduating from Romeo High School in 1956, where he played both football & baseball, Dick worked as a broach grinder for many years, starting with the Detroit Broach Company and after they shut down, worked for other companies in Macomb County as a broach grinder. But his love of life was farming, which he did his whole life, raising vegetables and field crops. His hobbies include golfing, hunting, being a past president and board member of the B & BS Gun Club in Ray Township, and a board member of the Davis Cemetery, also in Ray. Dick was also a member of St Isidore’s Catholic Church and a member of its Knights of Columbus, Council # 7200. Richard is survived by his children: Jeff (Margaret) Schoenherr of Ray, Robert Schoenherr of Wales Twp., Heather (William) Paquette of Clinton Township, Todd (Jennifer) of Imlay City, and Scott of Bruce Township. Grandchildren include Bradley, Tonia, Anthony, Nicole, Natalie, & Samuel with a great grandson Wyatt. Siblings include Judy Schoenherr of Ray, Jim (Jo Ellen) Schoenherr of Washington Twp., Gail Schoenherr of Ray, Tim (Terri) Schoenherr of Allenton, & Jan Schoenherr of Capac. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers William & Phil. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, 10 AM at St Isidore’s Catholic Church in Macomb Twp with Fr. Ronald Victor officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 & Wednesday from 1-8 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan with a rosary at 7:30 PM. Burial will follow at the Davis Cemetery.
