Richard D. Roth, age 84, a long-term resident of Romeo, passed away in Goodland, Florida on April 21, 2022. Richard was born August 26, 1937 in Ludington, Michigan, the son of Donald and Nellie (Spencer) Roth. After graduating from Romeo High School, Richard entered the Army, where he served for 4 years. Richard married Barbara Acker and she preceded him in death. He then married Carolyn (Brauer) Knuppenberg. Richard went to mortuary school, and spent his working years as a funeral director. After retiring as funeral direct Richard and Carolyn moved to Florida and lived on a sailboat where they loved cruising the Florida Gulf, the Keys and the Bahamas. After selling their sailboat they purchased a home in Goodland, Florida, where they spent their winters. Their summer home was in Honor, MI where they owned rental cabins on the Platte River. Richards favorite hobbies were shooting pool, fishing and bird hunting. Richard is survived by his wife, Carolyn Roth of Florida, children Greg (Carol) Roth of Leonard, Michigan, Kermit (Lucy) Knuppenberg of Macomb, Michigan, and Melony Caringi of Attica, Michigan, grandchildren, Kellie (Elliott) Wicker, Travis Roth, Amanda Roth, Ashley (Cooper) Sabo, Logan Roth, Olivia Roth, Kermit Knuppenberg, Dane Knuppenberg, and Tyler Trombley. Richard was predeceased by his children, Pam Roth, David Roth, Dane Knuppenberg, Mary Beth Knuppenberg, Drew Knuppenberg, as well as siblings, Donald Roth and Charlotte Murphy. Funeral Services will be held at the Henry M.Malburg Funeral Home on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 10am with a viewing from 9-10 Visitation will be on Thursday May 5, 2022 from 4-8 pm
