Richard P. Josaitis

Richard P. Josaitis, age 77, a 41 year resident of Armada, passed away on Tuesday February 7, 2017 at Advantage Living Center in Armada. Richard was born June 28, 1939 in Detroit, the son of John Josaitis and Edna (LaForest) Josaitis. He married the former Janet Krysick on November 7, 1964 in Detroit. After obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Wayne State University, Richard worked as an Engineer at GM for 31 years. When Richard was not working, he enjoyed sailing boats, canoeing, and flying radio-controlled model airplanes, as well as hunting, fishing, and following NASCAR. He raced ice boats and once crewed on a sailboat in the Port Huron to Mackinac Boat race. He enjoyed classical music, and was a skilled photographer.

 Richard is survived by his wife Janet of Armada, daughter Cathleen Josaitis (John Keener) of Pacifica, California, and son James (Khatijah) of Santa Rosa, California. He is also survived by his brother Donald Josaitis and sister Dolores Blanchard.

 A memorial service will be held on April 1 at 1:00 pm, at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo, MI, to be followed by a reception.
