Rita Purdon, age 94, passed away at Crittenton Hospital on September 21, 2012. Rita was born in Detroit Michigan on September 8, 1918 the daughter of Alexander and Helen. Rita’s hobbies included making pies, sewing, being a seamstress, doing crafts, and making perch rigs for the company Catchmore. Rita also made Angels for cancer patients for 17 years and was also a Crane Operator at the Tank Plant in Warren. Rita is survived by her 5 children; Robert (Antoinette) Purdon of Ashburn, VA, Judith (Jerry) Czarney of West Branch, Marilyn (Dennis) Chapman of Lapeer, Debra (Blair) Smith of Almont, and Donna (Martin) Grapentin of Leonard. One brother Norman Campbell of New Baltimore, he is the only one of surviving of 12.Also 21 grandchildren, 41 great children, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday September 25, 2012 at 10 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home with Robert Purdon Officating. Visitation will be on Monday September 24, 2012 from 2-8.
