A world has lost a legend, Robert E. Dodge, age 83, an 18 year resident of Romeo and previously from Armada, passed away at his home on Friday, September 8, 2017. Bob was born May 30, 1934 in Detroit, the son of Harold and Grace (Bickle) Dodge. He married Suzanne Bolgos in Ann Arbor in 1970. After attaining his Master’ Degree, Bob started working as special education and shop teacher in the Ypsilanti School District, then he moved to Armada and worked as a counselor for the State of Michigan. Then since 1970, till retirement in 2000, he worked for the MISD (Macomb Intermediate School District) also as a counselor. Upon retirement, he loved to be around people and worked for both Blake’s Orchard and also at Greystone Golf Course. His hobbies include playing Keno and going to Casino’s. Bob is survived by his wife Sue, children: Denise Schrand of Burton, MI., Barbie Dodge of Kalamazoo, MI., Charlissa Dodge of San Diego, CA., and Chris (Jessica) Dodge of Romeo. Grandchildren include Justin and Kelsey Schrand, Makayla Dodge, and Anthony & Jackson Burrell. Also survived by his sister Beverly Moulton of Alger, MI. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Betty Criss, Barbara Sieckowski and Dan Dodge. Memorial services and the celebration of Bob’s life will take place on Tuesday, September 12 at 5:30 PM at the Greystone Golf Course (67500 Mound Road, Washington Township, MI 48095). Bob’s family will have visitation at the golf course from 3 PM till the service starts at 5:30 PM. Donations to the Bayfield Therapeutic Equine (9130 Bayfield Lane, Brighton MI 48116-6726) or to the Michigan Special Olympics (3501 Hannan Rd, Wayne, MI 48184) would be appreciated.
