Robert H. Walton, age 81, a lifelong Almont area farmer, passed away on his farm on Tuesday, October 28, 2008.  Bob was born August 16, 1927 in Almont Twp., the son of Harold and Mildred (Pickleman) Walton.  He married the former Betty Stewart on October 14, 1950 at the First Congregational Church in Almont where he was a lifelong member.  Bob was a lifelong dairy farmer and belonged to the Michigan Milk Producers and DHIA farm organizations of Lapeer County.  He was also a former Almont School Board member, a Almont Twp. Board member, helped with the Meals on Wheels and Love Inc. of Lapeer. Bob was the president of the Class of 1945 of Almont High School, worked with 4-H kids for many years, served his Country during WW II in the Marines, belonged to the American Legion of Almont and when he wasn't farming, enjoyed taking long rides and being with his family & friends.     Bob is survived by his wife Betty, daughters; Cindie (Jim) Wade of Dryden, Nancy (Dennis) Garner of Almont and Robin (Henry) Steaban of Brentwood, TN. Grandchildren include Amy (Keith) Ragland, Scott (Melissa) Garner, Jamey, Kris, & Jon Wade, Zachary & Olivia Steaban, and Milli (Josh) Vincent.  Great grandchildren include Kaitlin & Ryan Ragland along with Brook Howie. Bob's sister Gloria (Al) Kaflik of Shelby Twp. survives and he was preceded in death by his son Richard Michael and his sister Helen Eschenburg.      Funeral services will take place on Friday at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church of Almont with Dr. Gary Glanville of the Romeo United Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ferguson Cemetery.  Donations to the Four County Foundation or to the Ferguson Cemetery would be appreciated.  Arrangements by the Henry M.
