Robert L. Edwards

Robert L. Edwards, age 77, a 1 1/2 year resident of Leonard, MI., and formerly from Statesville, NC and the Washington Township area, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2010 in Leonard, MI. Robert was born June 11, 1933 Alba, MI., the son of Roy L. and Albretta (Dixie) Stamper Edwards. He married Daisy Lee Davis in 1954 and she preceded him in death on September 28, 1997. Robert worked in skilled trades for Ford Motor Company for over 30 years and retired from the Chesterfield Twp. Plant in 1991 because of health reasons. Robert served his Country in the Army during the Korean War. Upon retirement he enjoyed fishing and being able to fix almost anything. Robert is survived by his daughter Teresa Edwards of Macomb Township along with grandchildren Christifer and Cody and great grandchildren Milan and Brea-anna. Also survived by his son in law Dennis Green of Statesville, NC. and siblings: Clarice Smith of Leonard, William Edwards of Hadley, MI., and Thelma Thorman of Ellsworth, MI. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Daisy, daughter Patrice Green, brother Stan, and his brother in law Gordon Smith. Funeral services will take place on Sunday at 3 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Pastor Kenneth Burdett of the Washington Baptist Church officiating. Burial will take place in Statesville, North Carolina.
