Robert R. Lyons

Robert R. Lyons, age 82, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at his home after an extended illness. Bob was born July 31, 1932 in Detroit, the son of Robert and Lenore (Heppner) Lyons. He married the former Rosemary Schmitt on June 21, 1952 at the St Paul’s Episcopal Church of Romeo. Bob took over from his father, the “Lyons Plumbing & Heating” of Romeo and continued operating the business from when his father started it in 1947 and till the business ended in 1997. Bob served his Country in the Korean War with the Army. Upon retirement, Bob enjoyed being more active with his church, St Paul’s Episcopal, and enjoying all types of sports, especially watching his children and grandchildren playing High School Sports. Bob is survived by his wife Rosemary, children: Mark (Kelly) of Romeo, Robin (David) Clearman of Washington Twp., Scott (Billie Jo) of Richmond, Lisa (James) Jones of Romeo, and Holly (Pat) Jenuwine of North Branch. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and siblings: Barb Ganfield of Romeo, Bette Ann (Marvin) Miller of Romeo, Sally Franklin of Wyandotte, MI., and Susan (John) Cassidy of Clarkston, MI. Bob was preceded in death by his granddaughter Paige Jenuwine and brother James. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at St Paul’s Episcopal Church of Romeo at 11 AM with Rev. Stacy Salles officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 1-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Donations to St Paul Episcopal Church would be appreciated.
