Robert W. Marlow, age 78, a 16 year resident of Bruce Township and formerly from Warren, MI., passed away at his home on November 23, 2012. Robert was born March 14, 1934 in Detroit, the son of Earl and Eleanor (Lambert) Marlow. He married the former Helen Bendik on June 9, 1956 at St Paul’s United Church of Christ in Warren where they were longtime members. Robert worked as a clerk/typist at the General Motor Tech Center in Warren for many years before retiring in 1992. Upon retiring from General Motors, he then worked at many local restaurants playing the piano for the Machus Red Fox, Oakland Hills, and Machus Sly Fox Restaurants. His hobbies include restoring furniture, volunteering for MCCREST, and belonging to the First Congregational Church of Romeo. Robert also served his Country while in the Army. Robert is survived by his wife Helen of Bruce Township, children: Kimberly (Don) Finnerty of Chesterfield, MI., Michelle Marlow of Rochester Hills, MI., and Nancy Cheedie of Texas. Also survived by grandchildren Krystie, Jason, Katelyn and great grandchildren Lana and Brooklyn. Robert was preceded in death by his brother Ron. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church of Romeo with Rev. Sherry Schacht officiating. Burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan. Visitation will be on Monday from 3-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
