Roberta J. Geer

Roberta J. Geer, age 74, a 45 year resident of the Romeo area,  passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Henry Ford, Macomb Hospital.  She was born December 13, 1932 in Pikeville, KY., the daughter of William McKinley (Virgie Atkins) Fleming.  She married Carl Geer on May 23, 1973 in New Baltimore, MI.   Roberta retired from the Food Service  department at Beaumont Hospital in Troy after 11 years in 1994.  She previously worked at Twist Drill in Rochester as a machine operator.  Her hobbies included being with her family, working in her flower garden, and baking.     Roberta is survived by her husband Carl, children:  Jim (Jan) Lay of Kawkawlin, MI., Mike (Sue) Lay of Goodrich, MI., Denese (Rich) Shipman of Imlay City, MI., Ralph (Judy) Lay of Almont, MI., Sherry (Dave) Ruckman of Marysville, MI., and Dawn Chambers of Midland, TX. Also survived by 23 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and her sister Sylvia Schakelford of Garden City, MI.  She was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren and numerous siblings.      Memorial services will take place on Sunday at 3 PM at the Henry M.
