Roger A. DeHondt, age 67, a lifelong Macomb County resident, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2014. Roger was born December 14, 1946 in Mt Clemens, MI., the son of Remi J. and Eleanor (DeVulder) DeHondt. He married Sheryle Mill on November 25, 1978 at Our Reedemer Lutheran Church. He worked many years as an estimator in the construction industry. His hobbies were being patriotic, being outdoors, especially at his cottage, and spending time with his grandchildren. Roger served his country in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. Roger is survived by his wife Sheryle of Leonard, children: David (Melissa) of Davison, MI., and Dane of Romeo. Also survived by grandchildren Brianna and Alan along with brother Eugene of Bruce Township. Memorial visitation will take place on Friday October 10, 2014 from 2-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo. Services will take place on Saturday October 11, 2014 at 1 PM at the Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Majeski of Grace Lutheran Fellowship officiating. In lieu of flowers the family of Roger DeHondt would like donations to be made to the family for the cause of “Primitive Reproduction Hand Crafting.†Visitation: Memorial visitation will take place on Friday October 10, 2014 from 2-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo. Services: Services will take place on Saturday October 11, 2014 at 1 PM at the Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Majeski of Grace Lutheran Fellowship officiating.
