Rosemary B. Hicks

Rosemary B. Hicks, age 93, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the Orchard Grove Legacy Center in Bruce Township, Michigan. Rosemary was born May 31, 1930 in Francesville, Indiana, the daughter of Clifford and Elizabeth (Finnegan) Render. She married W. Ray Hicks on October 17, 1953 at St. Frances Catholic Church in Francesville, Indiana and he preceded her in death on January 16, 2010.

Rosemary earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Detroit and her nursing degree from St Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. She worked for a short time as a nurse at St Joseph Hospital in Mt Clemens, but she spent most of her time raising her children in Romeo. She was active, along with her family at St. Clement Catholic Church of Romeo where she took communion to home bound individuals, helping take communion to the area nursing homes, and even participated in the St. Clement’s Women’s Guild. She enjoyed reading, member of the area Rug Hookers, and belonged to the Monday Club where she was the past president.

Rosemary is survived by her children: Susan (Steve) Meyer of Mentor, Ohio, daughter in law Michelle Trummel of Ypsilanti, MI., Bobbie (Mark) Dembowski and Dan Hicks, both of Romeo. Also survived by 8 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son David and siblings Jack, Robert, William, and Raymond Render.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, November 14 at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo with Fr. Stephen Reckker officiating. Burial will follow at the Romeo Cemetery. Visitation at the church from 9:15 till the Mass starts at 10 AM, all on Tuesday.
