Russell W. Hanselman

February 21, 1928 — July 31, 2016

Russell W. Hanselman, age 88, a resident of Dryden, and formerly from Boyne City/Chesterfield/Romeo and winters in Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at his home. Russell was born February 21, 1928 in Warren, Michigan the son of Wayne and Lucille (Hoxsey) Hanselman. He married the former Rena “Dolly” Malbouef. Russell was a Tool & Die maker for many years, starting in small job shops in Macomb County and then retired from Chrysler at its Sterling Stamping Plant in 1990 after 32 years of service. He served his Country proud in the Navy during WW II and his hobbies include golfing and wood carving. Russell is survived by his wife Dolly of Dryden, children: Mickey (Carol) Hanselman of Florida, Danny (Jolene) Hanselman, BethAnne (Gary) Schmid of Macomb, MI., Lisa (Tom) Evans of Almont, MI., and son-in-law Bruce Miller. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and sister Joyce Milligan of Kalkaska, MI. Russell was preceded in death by his daughter Peggy Jo Miller and brothers Robert and Richard. Memorial services will take place on Friday, August 5 at 11 AM at New Beginnings United Methodist Church (3000 28 Mile Road, Washington MI 48094, formerly Mt Vernon United Methodist Church) corner of 28 Mile and Mt Vernon in Washington Township, Michigan. Family will have visitation at the church on Friday from 10 AM till the time the service starts at 11 AM. Local arrangements by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
