Sally A. Lashbrook, age 62, a 38 year resident of Almont, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Henry Ford Macomb in Clinton Twp. Sally was born November 19, 1944 in Romeo, the daughter of T.L. and Ruby (Parks) Sexton. Sally married Kenneth Lashbrook on December 31, 1965 in Mt Clemens, MI. Sally graduated from Oakland University with a teaching degree and then taught full time at the Almont Elementary for 3 years and substituted for many years. Her love of life was teaching the piano which she did at her home for over 20 years. She was a longtime Almont Library Board member, Red Cross Blue Drive organizer, longtime member of the Almont First Congregational Church and its Historian. For many years she worked on the election committee for Almont. Her hobbies were going to flea markets, garage sales, and reading. Sally is survived by her husband Kenneth, daughters; Amy (Len) Curell of Grand Rapids, Holly Lashbrook of Berkley, & Shannon (Jason) Harjer of Chamberburg, PA. Grandchildren surviving include Ken, Chantal, & Joe Curell and her beloved dog Max. Brothers surviving include Paul Sexton of Lakeland, Florida & Doug Sexton of Franklin, TN. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church of Almont with Rev. Mark Melillo officiating. A funeral luncheon will immediately follow the service and then burial will take place on Monday at 2 PM at the Romeo Cemetery. Donations to the Almont Library would be appreciated.
