Sandra Kay (Swenson) Miller, age 72, passed away on March 31, 2016, at her home in Romeo, Michigan after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Sandy was born on June 20, 1945, to Carl Swenson and Jean (Lange) Swenson Baker in Carroll, Iowa. She grew up in Sac City where she was baptized in the Methodist Church, and later confirmed in the Lutheran Church. She graduated from Sac City High School in 1961. It was after high school that Sandy met the love of her life, Craig Miller. They were united in marriage on August 1, 1964, in Des Moines, IA. They were blessed with one son, Cameron. Sandy, Craig, and Cameron made their home in Des Moines, IA until 1973, when the family relocated to Michigan. Sandy dedicated her life to being a stay at home wife and mother. She enjoyed attending her son’s band performances. Sandy could often be seen behind the lens of a camera capturing treasured family memories. She made bi-annual trips to Iowa to spend time with her beloved family, where she was never one to turn down a game of poker or game of Mexican Train. Sandy was a loving grandmother to Dalton James Miller and Tori Jean Miller. She enjoyed attending Dalton’s sporting events and band performances, which at times were in conjunction with Cameron’s. She loved to spend time with Tori, and she enjoyed every minute of the curls, songs hugs and kisses. Sandy’s loved ones will remember her gentle and loving spirit. Sandy will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but no more than her husband of 52 years, Craig, who was always by her side. Surviving Sandy are her loving and devoted husband, Craig; her son, Cameron (Debbie) Miller of Romeo, MI; her grandchildren, Dalton James Miller (fiancé Kari Dragoo) of Washington, D.C., and Tori Jean Miller of Romeo, MI; and her mother Jean Baker of Sac City, Iowa.
