Sandra Kaye Fleury

Sandra Kaye Fleury, age 74, a 47 year resident of Romeo passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Sandy was born July 12, 1943 in Detroit, the daughter of Donald and Shirley (Clothier) Lamiman. She married Phillip L. Fleury on November 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roseville and he preceded her in death on October 1, 2007. After graduating from Roseville High School in 1961, Sandy went to Wayne State University and attained a Bachelor Degree in education. After getting married and moving to Romeo, Sandy started working for the Romeo Transportation Department and drove bus from 1976 till retirement in 2007. For many years she was the union steward representing AFSCME. She also worked for many years for the Speedway Gas Station in Romeo. Upon retirement due to health reasons, Sandy spent time watching her boys and grandchildren in all of their sporting activities. She had many extracurricular activities including playing softball & bowling, watching the Detroit Tigers play, playing bingo, keno, lottery numbers, being with her many dogs, and mostly being with her children and grandchildren. Sandy is survived by her son Scott (Mary) of Plymouth and Steve (Theresa) of North Port, Florida along with grandchildren Liz, Maggie, Brooke, William, Kevin, and Devin. Also survived by siblings: Dennis (Jan) Lamiman of Harrison Twp., Patricia (Nick) Nizza of Shelby Twp., and Terry (Stephanie) Lamiman of Warren, MI. Sandy was preceded in death by her grandson Andrew. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan with burial to follow at the Romeo Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-8 with a 7:30 PM rosary by the Knights of Columbus, Council #7018.
