Sarah A. Boyd

Sarah A. Boyd, age 62, a resident of Michigan and Kentucky her whole life, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016 in Burton, Michigan. Sarah was born May 20, 1954 in Dana, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Woodrow and Lillian (Smiley) Akers. She enjoyed painting, singing, playing board games, card games, and just being with her many family & friends. She enjoyed spending time at her church, Little Zion Church in Ray Township. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Sarah is survived by her sons: Brandon (Jamie) Boyd of Brown City and Roy (Amy) Boyd of Capac. Also survived by grandchildren David & Nolan and siblings: Gordon (Carol) Akers of Almont, Rick (Fay) Akers of Marlette, MI., her twin Gerald (Sherry) Akers of Burton, MI., and Rose (Buford) Conn of Almont. Sarah was preceded in death by her siblings: Ora Lee Akers, Roy Akers, Sandra Akers, and Liz Carpenter. Funeral services will take place on Sunday at 9:30 AM at the Little Zion Church (63181 Romeo Plank, Ray Michigan 48096, northwest corner of 29 Mile and Romeo Plank). Visitation will take place at the church on Friday and Saturday from 1-8 PM. Burial will follow at the McCafferty Cemetery in Bruce Township. Donations to the Church would be appreciated.
