Shirley A. Hoenle

Shirley A. Hoenle, age 78, a 15 year resident of Bruce Township and formerly from Centerline/Warren, MI., passed away after a long/courageous battle with Parkinson's, at her home on Oct. 3, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born December 16, 1931 in Detroit, the daughter of Edward and Phyllis (Bednarz) Platt. She married Walter A. Hoenle on November 4, 1950 at St Clement Catholic Church in Centerline, MI. Shirley graduated from St Clement Catholic Church High School and later attended Macomb Community College. She volunteered at St Sylvester Catholic Church in Warren and was a member of its choir for many years. Her hobbies included cooking, canning, oil painting, and being with her family and friends. She was also an accomplished seamstress and was most proud of making her daughter's wedding dresses. Shirley is survived by her husband Walter of Bruce Twp., children: Thomas (Terry) Hoenle of Rochester Hills, Susan (Dr. Steven) Ferrucci of Washington Twp., William (Sharon) Hoenle of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Sandra (Lee) Marogi of Bruce Twp. Also survived by 10 grandchildren along with her sister Claudia (Ben) Galimberti of Saline, MI. Shirley was preceded in death by her brother Ron Platt. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo with burial at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Oakland Township. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6-9 and on Wednesday from 2-9 with a 7 PM rosary at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Donations to Michael J. Fox Parkinsons Foundation, the Parkinson’s Foundation, or to McLaren Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation: on Tuesday from 6-9 on Wednesday from 2-9 with 7 PM Rosary with Knights of Columbus, Council # 7018 of St Clement Catholic Church, Romeo Visitation on Thursday from 9:30 AM - 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church Services: on Thursday at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church. (343 S. Main, Romeo) Interment: Guardian Angel Cemetery in Oakland Township
