Shirley Ann Bucan, age 90, of Romeo Michigan passed away on

April 15, 2025 at Corewell Troy Beaumont Hospital.

Shirley was born on February 25, 1935 to the late Arthur and Clara

(Beaulier) Kleiber in Kingsford Michigan. She was the youngest of three

children. She graduated from Kingsford High School. At the age of 16, she

met the love of her life Anton Bucan also of Kingsford Michigan. When he

returned from serving in the Korean War they were married April 7, 1956 at

the American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford Michigan. They shared

68 wonderful years together until his passing. Tony and Shirley had a

daughter and son and raised them with love in a happy home. Shirley’s

greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted and loving wife ,

mother and grandmother. A true family woman. She enjoyed baking and

cooking and always had delicious baked goods and meals ready for her

family. She enjoyed vacations and travel with her family. She was always

kind and caring and had many friends. Friendships were important to her.

She enjoyed visiting with them and going out to lunches and events. She

loved writing letters and sending birthday and Christmas cards to family

and friends until she was no longer able. Shirley loved her church, her faith

was deep. She was also a long time member of the former Women’s Guild

of St. Clement Catholic Church in Romeo.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Denise (Voja) Rakic, son, James

(Deana) Bucan, grandchildren, Dr. Alisha Bucan (m. Noah Houghtaling),

Dr. Jonathan (Jordan) Bucan and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased in death by her husband Anton, siblings, Eugene,

and Verna, and daughter-in-law, Annette Bucan.

Shirley will be remembered for her generous, loving heart, kindness, and

gentle ways. She is deeply missed and forever loved.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at

St. Clement Catholic Church in Romeo. Visitation is at 9:00 AM until

the Mass begins at 10 AM . Burial to immediately follow at Romeo

Cemetery. All on Tuesday.
