Shirley W. Aalbertsberg, age 86, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. Shirley was born March 17, 1929 in Romeo, the daughter of William and Merle (Kimball) Frost. Shirley loved to volunteer her time, working as a “Candystriper” at Mt Clements General Hospital, at the St Clement Food pantry, and helping out at the Cascade Nursing Home in Ray Township. She loved to take long walks, working with her flowers and with her daughter Bonnie, she collected porcelain dolls. Shirley is survived by her children: William (Barbara) of Alaska and Steven (Cindy) of Romeo. Also survived by 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren & 4 great great grandchildren, and sister-in-laws: Vera, Helen, and Jean Frost. She was preceded in death by her daughter Bonnie on March 10, 2010, her twin brother Gurley on December 10, 2008 and siblings: Marshall, Roy, Jim, Bill, Doc, Florence Rocker, and Mary Pevitt. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11 AM with Rev. Lonnie Frost officiating. Burial will follow at the Powell Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside of her twin brother Gurley. Donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 5 from 2-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
