Stanley C. Dunford

Stanley C. Dunford, age 86, a 3 1/2 year resident of Washington Township and formerly from Warren/Florida , passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. Stanley was born in England, the son of Fredrick and Ethel Dunford. After serving in the Royal Navy during WW II., he met Ella Clements and they were married at St Clements Church in England in 1945. They moved to the Detroit area in 1952 and Stanley started working in the Tool & Die Industry until 1985, when he retired from “Ronart Industries” in Detroit. His hobbies were his English MG’s, which he loved to work on and restore. He also loved to be near the water and going boating. Stanley is survived by his wife Ella of Washington Twp., and children: Beverley Scribner of Florida, Lesley (George) McLear of Romeo and Lawrence (Margaret) Dunford of Washington Twp. Grandchildren include Ronnie, Kevin, Kelly, Eric, Ashley, and Kris. Also survived by 9 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 3 PM at Mt Vernon United Methodist Church.
