Stanley Joseph LaDuke, age 87, a resident of Romeo, passed away Thursday October 17, 2024 at home. Stanley was born June 23, 1937, in Centerline, Michigan, the son of Joseph I. and Barbara (Skulba) LaDuc. Stan was the first born of five children, and the only boy. At the age of 17, he and his friend Chuck Osborne joined the Air Force to fight in the Korean War. After being discharged, he met and married Carol A. Gavin. They had 63 years together. Stan rejoined the Air Force during the Vietnam War. During those years, Stan and Carol were blessed with three children, Steve, Michele, and Coleen. Stan worked as a Tool Maker for Ford Motor Company, retiring in 2000. Stan was a family man, helping to make his children kind and loving adults. He loved his Mustangs, and won trophies at the Ubly Drag Strip. In his 40’s, he bought a motorcycle. He also began running, and ran two marathons a year. In his 50’s, he changed to bike riding, and he and Carol took state-long trips. Stan had a condo in Florida, and traveled the world, going to many states countries. Stan just plain loved life, and is already missed.
Stan is survived by his wife, Carol, children, Steve (Annmarie) LaDuke, Michele (John) Shaffer, and Coleen (Gino) Jimenez, grandchildren, Joseph and Nicole, and great-grandchildren, Zander, Emma, Dexton, and Laylah.
