Stephen Matthew Malburg

Stephen M. Malburg, age 22, a lifelong Romeo area resident passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011. Stephen was born on February 6, 1989 in Southfield, MI., the son of Joseph and Pamela (Flowers) Malburg. Upon graduating from Romeo High School in 2007, Stephen attended Macomb Community College. He worked at various jobs in the Romeo area and just got hired to start next week at the Romeo Golf Course. He previously worked with Fettes Manufacturing in Sterling Heights, Kosch Catering & Chipotle Grill both in Rochester, MI. and with his mother at Pamela’s Catering in Romeo. His love of life was basketball and golf. After playing for the Romeo Bulldogs as its starting point guard, he would go back every year with his brother Joe and work the summer basketball camps. During his younger days, he showed chickens and pigs with the Ray Community 4-H club. Stephen is survived by his mother Pamela Malburg (Steve Johnson) of Metamora, MI., and his brother Joe of Washington Twp. Also survived by his grandmother Clara Malburg of Ray Township and his special friend Ryanne Banks. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph in 1996. Funeral services will take place at 9:30 AM on Tuesday at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo with Fr. Doc Ortman officiating. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5-9 and on Monday from 2-9 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
