Sueann M. Jones

Sueann M. Jones, age 79,a resident of Romeo since 1958, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Sue was born January 21, 1937 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Merton and Vera (Marybelle) Ford. While attending Central Michigan University, she met the love of her life Bob Jones on a blind date, and they were married February 2, 1957 in Saginaw. After being a charter member of the Romeo Elks, she managed the club for many years and was elected Elkette of the Year. She also was a charter member of the Romeo Jaycees, member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and also a member of the Women Auxiliary of the Striber-McVicar Post # 2052. Sue enjoyed spending summers at her cottage in Gladwin, gardening, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. Sue is survived by her sons: Carey Jones of Virginia & Bradley Jones of Florida. Also survived by grandchildren Jamison (Rachel) and their son Samuel, and Nathan (Melanie), their daughter Bella and brother J. Richard (Sheila) Jones of Texas. Sue was preceded in death by her husband Bob on July 30, 2013. Memorial will visitation will take place on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 1-5 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. A Funeral Luncheon will take place at the Striber-McVicar Post (70455 McVicar, Romeo) after the visitation. Donations to the VFW Womens Auxiliary would be appreciated.
