Terry A. Smiles

Terry A. Smiles, age 47, a 9 year resident of Lake Orion, passed away at his home on May 6, 2015. He was born on November 30, 1967 in Lapeer, Michigan, the son of Richard and Lila (McLeod) Smiles. Terry graduated from Romeo High School in 1985, received a Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University and his Master’s Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. On October 21, 1994, Terry married his beloved wife Kristi Hubbell at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Romeo. Terry worked at Autoneum in Farmington Hills for 11 years and was the Director of Program Management. He loved running marathons, coaching soccer, attending his kids’ sporting events, family summer vacations in Frankfort, and his beloved Sparties. He had a great sense of humor and loved being around his family. Terry is survived by his wife Kristi and his two children; Lindsey and Benjamin of Lake Orion. He is also survived by his father Richard (Janetta) Smiles of Bruce Township; his brothers Jeff of Davisburg and Todd of Canton; and mother-in-law Carol Hubbell of Goodrich. He was preceded in death by his mother Lila in 1983. Visitation will be Sunday, May 10, 2015 from 2 PM until 8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. A scripture service will take place at 7 PM. Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 11, 2015, at 11 AM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion with Father Mike Verschaeve officiating. Viewing will take place at the church from 10-11 AM. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements made by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.
